Love Thyself
I have discovered a mantra that should be uttered at least once daily, preferably more.
You Are Beautiful.
To believe it, you must say it, and to say it, you must believe it.
You Are Beautiful.
The statement in itself is rather simplistic, yet so expressive.
So successful in depicting the determination of one's self worth.
You Are Beautiful.
Say it once while looking directly in the mirror.
Afterward, don't immediately jump to point out your obvious flaws.
They are obvious, but they are what defines your unique beauty.
You Are Beautiful.
Then again, such a statement is only verified iin the eye of the beholder.
And beauty itself is only skin deep.
What can you say that you don't believe?
You Are Beautiful.
Start by repeating the words.
Repeat them until they are nothing but sounds.
Then believe.
You Are Beautiful
in your ripped jeans and old tee-shirt.
You Are Beautiful
as you're walking the dog.
You Are Beautiful
when you're lying in bed at 2 in the morning writing haikus in your head

And it all went down like this you see;
I left you, you didn't leave me.
Numb and defeated
Hardened and depleted
Though I know you may not have the capacity
to comprehend
I will word it in a language that your mind can understand
I sipped precariously from a thimble of sweet poison
So sweet it drowned the taste of you
So thick it made a place for you
I envied those who played with you
Saving all my wisdom for a book with empty pages
I move in stages- we've missed a cue
Envy or denial? I can never be sure
But like a door closing
I have lost my key.
It all went down like this you see;
One and one and one is three
Your painted smile never reaches your eyes
Pray tell- the secret of your glittering lies
So bold they stoned me--
So the act you've shown me
How true love is portrayed
A sinner betrayed
Poet redeemed
But your words cannot always be your salvation.
Oh sweet saccharine doll--
You must see the beauty--
The tragedy of it all
It is not you I miss, but perhaps the ideals
How real
It f

A pleasantly cool breeze passes through the crowd that has started to accumulate along the grassy hill, as the sun shines down brightly through a cluster of light clouds. Somewhere off in the distance, birds are chirping cheerfully, almost sensing the events that are about to take place. A television moos. Enthusiastic whispers and murmurs can be heard as the air buzzes with energy; the excitement is palpable. Some audience members near the front float upwards and fly down to obtain a clearer view, while others step back to grab a cushion on the terraced seating. This place is not imaginary, but rather… virtual. Videoranch3D, the brain child of modern Renaissance man and musician Michael Nesmith, is an online resort, where people can log on from all over the world and tune into live concerts, as well as movies and music, all of which are streamed in through virtual venues, in real time. Each person is represented through a small animated character, or an “avatar”, and is

Eulogy For A Friend
In the arms of temptation
Reality sought you like a scorned lover
Impossibly determined
You breathed your lungs into his
Gave him life
Redeemed his bruised pride
Reminded him of his forgotten sense of purpose
Behind a mask of rock-hard integrity
Unabashed control and a fiery passion
Righteously fueled by divine power
You spoke volumes of truth
Made him stop to hear the echo of his own thoughts
Changed the turning of the ever-flowing tide
Re-directed time
From volumes of turbulent history you came
Dog-eared pages clinging to your fingertips
The words of the creator fresh from your lips
Hope drawn from the souls of strangers
Neutrally buoyant in your honorable refusal
Though your eyes greyed they never saddened
Your words echo against the walls, even now
Accidentally triumphant in your quest
We stood, firm and unmoved
Peaceful but unwavering in our support
You sang without a voice
Dreamed despite a collection of incomplete visions
Whispered the secret of life to those who listened
So car
